Amber's work explores how people interact with and perceive their bodies, challenging traditional ideas about what makes a body attractive. Her work encourages viewers to reflect on their perception of the human body from a different perspective. We're taught from a young age that the ideal body type is thin and attractive, and usually, the most beautiful and successful people are thin. This view is constantly reinforced by the media. Social media apps have become places where people are constantly body shamed. This often means that we have little to no control over how others see us. Therefore, by using different mediums such as painting, drawing, and digital art, Amber seeks to enlighten her viewers about the beauty and potential of the human form regardless of its appearance. This is conveyed using non-realistic colours in her work, which amplifies the utopian quality of her artwork. By telling a story through brightly coloured and headless bodies, Amber aims to make people aware of the fact that no matter what they look like, and/or whom they want to be, they are still beautiful.
