Cassy Funk

I have always been inclined towards the arts and being creative in many ways and through various mediums. As I narrow my focus on graphic design and my ceramic practice, I am interested in how the things we interact with daily can affect our quality of life and overall enjoyment of our environment. Through my practice I aim to enhance the appreciation of mundane or often overlooked parts of our everyday lives by creating art objects that are not only beautiful but functional. Weather that is a handcrafted mug that you fill with your morning cup of coffee, instead of a mass-produced one, not only because of the way it looks but how it fits in your hand and the comfort it brings. Or the label design on a candle that not only looks good on the shelf or table where it lives but fills the air whenever you light it.
