Forest Lune

Inspired by organic forms and botanical imagery, the artist's collection of work illustrates her interpretations of nature. The artist enjoys the concept of making "art for the sake of art", thus creating artwork that would enhance an area decoratively. Working both traditionally and digitally, these illustrations include original designs, illustrations from observing the Reader Rock Garden (in Calgary), and two inspired by songs. The more stylized pieces, "Forest Creatures", "In Bloom", “Crazy Eyes” and "Wildflowers" were inspired by the artist's two favourite art movements, Art Nouveau and 1960s Psychedelic. “These styles use flowy lines, organic shapes, and were typically used on poster art. “My Party” is a paint-pen poster art inspired by the 1960s song. The two landscape pieces, "Pink Prairies" and "Into The Garden" were inspired by the feeling and mood of the scenery by using colors that enhance the atmosphere. The sticker collection “Bear Friends” is a wholesome interpretation of bears being silly. Lastly, the “Mini Flower Prints” were inspired by the flora seen at the Reader Rock Garden. All of these illustrations were inspired by the nature of the world around us, and are awaiting to be shared with others.
