Iris May is a UK-based painter and curator, currently an undergraduate at the Glasgow School of Art. Exploring the aesthetics of the home, taboo and the dynamics of subject/audience, May‘s work is a celebration of play and the tactile nature of materials. Her current body of bork is specifically focused on Calgary, the people, places, and emotions which inhabit a place built on dichotomies. From wealth disparity to the weather, May considers the drastic contrasts what gives this city its unique tension and a rich bed from which to draw visual stimulation.
