J. Broz is an 8th generation settler born and raised in Calgary on Treaty Seven land, and a studying artist at the Alberta University of the Arts working toward a BFA with a major in sculpture. Her current style is fluid as she experiments at university with different mediums to create 3D sculptural forms, and has partiality to texture, movement, and sustainability. Her former work of geometric abstraction created from 2017 – 2019 explore trans mutated emotions through relationships between colour and form, and the non-flat forms are objects of contemplation that invite the spectator’s complete absorption in them. J. Broz is an intermediate artist with over 15 years of paint knowledge from commercial, retail and renovation professions. Her work has been exhibited at the Jubilee Auditorium(s) in Alberta, Alberta University of the Arts, and she has contributed public works for BUMP mural projects, Chinook Blast, and the ‘POP UP’ Restaurant Series.
