Lu's practice creates thickly layered vivid explosions of colorful and constrained emotional opposites, ranging from abstract landscapes to pure ethereal abstractions. From quiet rainy-day moods to exuberant explosions of colour, Lu believes that painting should be an adventure without fear - that the most interesting and engaging painting can only be found by pushing past fears, past emotional boundaries, past comfort levels.
