May Jones

My work aims to create a visual representation of chronic illness by exploring concepts of comfort and care. I have been exploring the body through the context of domesticity, the home, and the objects within it. The home is an interesting metaphor for the body and chronic illness because, like the body, it is a vessel for living and an extension of your being. Quilt imagery has also been an essential part of my practice as it is representative of comfort, care, and domesticity.
