Mikey de la Hay

I’m a a second year illustration student here at AUArts and also an actual wizard in training from right here in Calgary, Alberta. I’m interested in exploring art of all kinds, I do everything from drawing to painting to sculpting and even media arts! What I make is usually inspired in some way by magic and fantasy and I’m always looking to have fun and play with colour in whatever interesting ways I can. Bugs and animals are probably my favourite things to draw. Making art for people is one of my biggest motivations to draw, which is ultimately what lead me down the design pathway. Seeing people excited when a finished product is given to them if one of my favourite things, and because of this I one day hope to be a tattoo artist, whipping up all sorts of funky designs for people to get to keep forever!
