From childhood I have been drawn to creating, learning needle arts from my mother. Sewing next became my passion, with the creation of clothes and then quilting. From there I merged into Fibre Arts, dyeing and painting fabrics and then acrylic, oil and watercolour painting. Since nature and its texture continually draw me, I also thrive in getting my hands into clay and making ceramics. Currently I’m exploring the merging of these various paths. The beauty, solace and renewal I find in nature leads me to themes of forest, rock, water and sky. It is the energy, emotion, texture and colour that I seek to capture. I am also disturbed by our ‘throw away’ culture, and seek to reuse and use up whatever materials I have on hand, in my artistic journey. My hope is that my works will draw others into the wonder of life.
