This was an improvised cut paper experiment. I cut out a shape, decided it looked like a skirt, and kept building off of it from there. Her limbs were created in a way that allowed me to try out different poses before deciding she was reaching for the rain. I particularly love the umbrella, which came after the concept was solidified. Since this was a freeform paper piece, it is a one of a kind original. The work is 6 7/8” x 10”. As with all pigmented art, keep out of direct sunlight.
