These trilobite dishes are hand engraved with a diamond bur in a pneumatic flex-shaft, using a pointillist technique. Each dish takes hours of careful mark making to create a range of values and line quality. Each dish is then kiln-slumped to give it a low dish form - perfect for holding jewelry, soap keys or just for decoration! The imagery depicts a fossilized arthropod that thrived during the Cambrian period. While these magnificent creatures can be found captured in stone all over the world, some of the largest fossil deposits exist in the British Columbian and Albertan Rocky Mountains.
