Anne Murdoch
I’m a first-year student at Alberta University of the Arts, working toward a Bachelor of Design. My art is about capturing the amazing wildlife and landscapes around us, especially here in Canada. I am particularly drawn to painting fish and wolves, and when it comes to landscapes, I work from my own photos taken while exploring the Rockies. My style is a mix—I like combining bold, illustrated elements with more realistic, muted tones, which I think helps bring out both the beauty and the mystery of the landscape. Recently I have been starting to introduce myself to traditional printmaking, exploring this new media has been exciting as it gives me new ways to explore my chosen subject matter through my art. My goal is to get people to really appreciate the nature around us, and hopefully inspire them to care about it a bit more. I am excited to meet new people, get my work out there, and share what I love at the AUArts Fall Show and Sale this year!
