Dhaman
Dhaman is storyteller and creative who enjoys working in the tactile and hands-on ways of making, whether it be throwing and hand-sculpting forms with clay, etching and carving for printing processes or getting into the nitty gritty with embroidery. As a queer, plus-sized person of colour, a lot of their work reflects the many nuances of identity, acceptance, and normalization. From each divot, fold, crease, and groove, each body has its own story to tell, and this artist tries to convey these narratives through their work. Mediums are a language through which artists render narratives, and through different hands-on processes, this artist aims to give life and volume to the various bodies represented in their works. They hope to allow others to feel seen and celebrated by challenging the conventional notions of beauty and creating space for natural and unfiltered bodies.
