Hi there! I’m Éva. In my illustrative practice, I love crafting playful and interesting characters as an expression of self. My work often uses bright colour palettes, expressive mark making, and lively linework. I enjoy using both digital and traditional means to create artwork that showcases often overlooked subjects like criminal grannies.
I find inspiration from many sources, local murals, c-train rides, and being surrounded by creative people just to name a few. I’m greatly inspired by mid-mod aesthetics and traditional printmaking methods, aspects of which find their way into my unique artistic approach. My recent semester abroad in Cornwall England inspired me to find more looseness in my work. It taught me that the imperfections in my illustrations make them more interesting and human. I feel grateful for the opportunity to continue to grow and improve my craft while entering my final year at AUArts.
