Hanh Nguyen is an interdisciplinary artist from Vietnam based in Mohkinstsis/Calgary who works and explores the meaning of existence. Her art style is influenced by her early fascination with fashion and Japanese anime, which tie closely to her practice in digital illustration, character design, world-building, and storytelling. Additionally, Nguyen is also interested in the relationship between physical material and the intangible essence of self. From Nguyen's point of view, to create is to explore oneself. Her character creations are often an outlet for her emotions and crises. By using fantasy and logic to examine them, she hopes to gain valuable insight and an understanding of her position in the world.
