Absurdity is a fundamental aspect of existence. Rationalizing the world can be disorienting, and ultimately nonsensical. As a sculptor, I attempt to fit my work into that struggle of understanding using elements of humour, sarcasm, and nonsense in an effort to provoke some level of reflection and contemplation on the human experience. My pieces confront viewers with something unexpected to raise questions of value, obstacles and purpose in the more mundane, perhaps boring, elements of everyday life by examining them from different perspectives. I draw inspiration from both the mundane, and from reflections on nature and the environment.
