Noah Milo is a fashion designer, filmmaker, and painter based in Calgary, Alberta, currently studying at AU Arts. Born into a Muslim faith in 2001, he grew up in between Saskatoon and Cairo. Milo started his artistic practice at the age of 17 after running away from home. Making a start working and living out of a 300 sq. ft. studio in Edmonton. In the following years, he traveled between studios in Edmonton, continuously refining his voice and engaging with societal issues that resonate deeply with his personal journey. With a diverse lineage of immigrants, settlers, and slaves, Milo examines the complexities of his ancestry and the lasting effects of colonization. Through oil paint and mixed media, he looks to illuminate these narratives, inviting viewers to reflect on the intersections of identity and history.
