Making things quirky and unconventional, yet fun and functional is a balance the artist strives for in their artistic practice. The artist enjoys exploring different types of craft and painterly media and mixing them together; things like illustrated dinnerware like plates, bowls and cups to charming little clay pins are her newfound joy. Her work is an invitation to experience the tactile and the visual, merging the textures and shapes of clay with colorful possibilities.
In her ceramic pieces, the artist embraces the unpredictability of the medium, allowing the natural variations of clay and glaze to inform her artistic process. Each piece is a reflection of her fascination with form and function, where utility meets aesthetic expression.
Through illustration, the artist expands her exploration of color, shape, and narrative, which allows her to experiment freely, blending styles and techniques that can later be applied to her ceramic practices. And with her finished artwork she hopes to inspire a sense of curiosity and appreciation for the diverse expressions of creativity that shape our world.
