Hello, my name is Rachel Crossfield, and I am a fourth-year art student here at the Alberta University of the Arts. I am attending university to get a bachelor’s degree in fine arts majoring in painting. My interest in Art began as a toddler. I was given my first doodle board and would begin to draw subjects that were being depicted on the television screen. As I got older, I began taking art lessons where I was exposed to a variety of mediums such as jewelry making, ceramics and print making. Currently I do acrylic/watercolor painting and woodburning. I have also recently begun taking up ink drawing. An interesting fact about me is I have both a learning and physical disability. Outside of the studios I enjoy travelling, swimming, hanging out with animals but most importantly have a great time. My goal for the future is to pursue a career in the fine arts industry selling art pieces, participate in shows and most importantly share my love for creativity with the world.
