Riley Fowler
Riley Fowler is a nonbinary Inuk artist who creates unique disturbing artwork. Their art practice focuses on past trauma and its effects on their identity. Their artwork evokes a sense of uneasiness with the intent to make the viewer uncomfortable. They translate trauma through the use of abstracting and abjecting the human body to illustrate trauma as infectious, invasive and genetic. They create monstruous oddities which both intrigue and repulse the viewer through the use of trypophobia. Their work explores the loss of identity and gaps in memory caused by traumatic events through the repetitive use of holes. Riley has carefully transformed their art practice into one-of-a-kind jewelry that can be uniquely worn by you.
