Hello, my name is Sofia and I am a second-year sculpture student. I enjoy working in 3D mediums because it allows me to be hands-on and get a feeling for the material I am working with. Although I have recently begun exploring digital art as well. My love of sculpture and other 3D work comes from the endless options for materials and methods I can work with. My work explores a large variety of subject matter but my 3D works are often non-representational. I draw inspiration from conceptual art and the aesthetics of the 60s and 70s manipulating and combining ideas to develop my personal style. My process is rarely planned from start to finish. Instead, I begin with one or more sketches and a general plan then, as I begin working I allow the material to influence how I work. I experiment with the material until I am satisfied with its appearance. This process results in unique pieces that I have put my whole self into.
