Personality is the key focus of Scottish-based artist Sunny Tsang’s work. Often inspired by something as everyday as a bus ride, or a trip to a country park in her hometown, Sunny enjoys translating these mundane moments into quirky yet relatable pieces of art that always have buckets of character.
She is also very keen on experimenting with mixed media, believing that no matter what your specialty is there is always room to overlap and bring certain elements of other departments over. Recently she has been experimenting with new mediums such as her use of the RISO printer, a process that she quickly fell in love with. It allowed her to achieve the vibrant and punchy colours she was envisioning, as well as giving her the colour layering knowledge to bring to future projects. She feels this is a very important part of the artistic journey.
Many of her projects stem from her love for her friends and family. For these pieces, Sunny often creates work with an element of comedy, stating it really gives her joy to make the people she cares about laugh or have something fun or personal to put on their walls.
