Lailey Newton

Working primarily in acrylic paint and printmaking, Lailey explores digital realities and internet aesthetics. By making compositions digitally through vector and 3D sculpting software she can engage in the exchange that occurs when meshing technological and analog processes. Currently in her practice, Lailey is inspecting architecture and space by deconstructing and removing it from its contexts: softening its visual clarity to create false locations that feel familiarly intangible. In doing this she analyzes blindspots and focuses on the isolating aspects of nostalgia, memory, and recollection by highlighting loss, voids, and misremembering.
